Now in its 20th year, this fall’s annual Alan Greenberg Charity Golf Tournament raised a whopping $130,000 to benefit the Floor Covering Industry Foundation.
The September 21 event drew dozens of industry executives, business owners, vendors, manufacturers, and friends from around North America to Georgia’s historic Barnsley Gardens last month. Hosted by CCA Global Partners, the event is a beloved tradition and collective mission towards assisting the Foundation in helping current and former industry staff get back on their feet following illness, disability, or other unexpected hardships.
It was a long-overdue day of friendly competition and fundraising, according to Charlie Dilks, chief product officer at CCA Global Partners and chairman of the FCIF Board.
“We have an incredible community that really shows up for each other and turns out to give back,” he emphasized.
The golf tournament would have celebrated its 21st anniversary this year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was cancelled in the fall 2020, although virtual fundraising far exceeded expectations.
The Floor Covering Industry Foundation, founded in 1981, is a registered nonprofit devoted to providing grants to colleagues in dire need of medical care, as well as assisting with living expenses. Past beneficiaries have included an installer and his daughter both battling leukemia, and a lift truck operator who underwent amputation surgery. Each grantee is treated with utmost confidence and dignity, as members of one huge collective family.
