From chandeliers and sconces to flush mounts and floor lamps, the combination of moody, matte black and gilded finishes will be making a striking statement in home design this year. As seen in the 2018 Trends Issue of Beautiful Design Made Simple magazine, here are a few of our favorite selections:
Finished in black and Chinois antique gold leaf, this Currey & Company chandelier (top right) features classic shapes with minimalist lines, to create a modern feel that adds an elegant touch to any space.
An instant classic, the "Orbit" collection (bottom right) features a popular two tone design trend. The interior cluster and chain is satin brass, while the frame and canopy are oil rubbed bronze.
The Lumley pendant (top right) showcases a hand-finished frame in French black, complemented by a Pyrite bronze interior – a combination that brings the warmth of the patisserie or the brazenness of the NYC bistro to mind.
The Baird Trio pendant (middle right) is a symmetrical delight enhanced by the intermingling of Molé black and Molé gold finishes which adds interest without disturbing the mid-century modern feel.
Uttermost's Placuna pendant (bottom right) takes the simple look of a metal dome pendant in a pacific bronze finish with antique brass accents and adds the wow of opulence with a warm antiqued Capiz shell and lined interior for a wonderful transitional style.
